#CheckOut The Weeknd Covers Rolling Stone, Talks Success, Drake, Taylor Swift & More

The Weeknd is the latest artist to cover Rollingstone Magazine's November issue. In the cover story 'The Hills' singer opens about being on drugs, dating Bella Hadid, success, Drake, Taylor Swift and much more.

Check out some excerpts from the cover story below.

On Drake: “I gave up almost half of my album. It’s hard. I will always be thankful— if it wasn’t for the light he shined on me, who knows where I’d be. And everything happens for a reason,” he said.

On Taylor Swift: “The whole time she was talking, she was kind of like, petting my hair? I think she was just drawn to it — she must have been a little gone off a few drinks,” he said. “And of course I’m not going to be like, ‘Hey, can you stop?’ I mean, it felt good! But when she started petting my hair, that’s when I was like, ‘I definitely need a drink."

“She actually schooled me on my own s***. She was like, ‘I’ve been listening to “The Morning” for years— it’s one of my favorite songs ever!’ I mean, she might have just Googled it. But she seemed genuine,” he said. “But the whole time she was talking, she was kind of, like, petting my hair? I think she was just drawn to it— she must have been a little gone off a few drinks. And of course I’m not going to be like, ‘Hey, can you stop?’ I mean, it felt good!”

On success of songs “I Can’t Feel My Face” and “The Hills: ” It’s something he definitely didn’t expect. “At the time, I thought I’d be a punk star— grow my hair out, acne on my face, super-f******-skinny. I was looking at artists like Iggy Pop and the Ramones, or Afropunk. But you evolve and realize your potential. And then it’s like, ‘Fuck yeah. Let’s go.'”

On being on drugs: “I never needed detox or anything. But I was addicted in the sense of ‘F–k, I don’t want to spend this day without getting high."

On dating girlfriend Bella Hadid: “I actually asked her to be on the artwork for Beauty Behind the Madness. My motive was literally to work with her.” But when she declined, “I was like, ‘All right, cool — we can meet up face-to-face.'” Tesfaye says he loves how hardworking she is, and how close she is with her family. “It just kind of fell into my lap,” he says. “If this had happened two years ago — well,” he catches himself, “she couldn’t.” (Two years ago, Hadid would have been 16.) “But if I’d met someone two years ago, I probably would’ve f***** it up. But I’m more — how do I say it? — clear-thinking now.”
